Dear Manning Families,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We have a busy week ahead as our students begin their CMAS assessments this Tuesday, April 7. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to review this letter for important details about the state assessments, including the full schedule. These assessments provide valuable data that help us refine and enhance our instructional practices. As always, our students have been working hard and I cannot wait for them to show what they know on these assessments!

Additionally, please note that Wednesday, April 15, will be a modified contact day for sixth grade students, as our seventh graders will be completing their social studies assessment, and our eighth graders will be completing their science assessments. There will be no school for sixth graders on this day. Also, 7th and 8th graders have an early release on this day. We also ask that you remind your student to charge their device each night to ensure they are prepared for testing.

I wanted to take a moment to remind students and families about the importance of properly caring for their Chromebooks. This year, we have seen an increase in devices being submitted for repair due to damage.

In many cases, the damage is related to students removing the screen protectors, which can place stress on the screen and lead to cracks or other issues. We ask that students keep all protective materials intact and handle their devices with care.

In instances of significant damage, we will follow up directly with students and families. Please note that families may be responsible for repair or replacement costs—up to $350—if a device is out of warranty or the damage is not covered.

Thank you for your partnership in helping ensure that all students take good care of their devices.

Have a great week!

In partnership,

Matt
