Attendance

If your student will be absent from school for a typical 1-2 day absence (illness, emergencies, appointments, or other 1 day events)

• Call the attendance line by 10 a.m. at 303-982-6330. 
• All absences MUST be called in within 24 hours of the occurrence, or they will remain unexcused. 
• You can call ahead for scheduled absences like doctor appointments. 

If your student will be absent from school for more than 2 days::

• A pre-arranged absence form is required to be completed and turned in to the front office PRIOR to the absence.
• You can obtain these forms on the Manning website or in the front office. 
• Your student will need to take this form around to each of their teachers and their counselor or principal, and then return it to the front office. 
• The front office will make a copy to send home with your student so they know what work they will be missing. 
• You DO NOT need to call in to the front office if this form has been completed and turned in prior to the absence.

If your student is tardy to school at the beginning of the day, there are 3 ways to excuse this tardy:

• Call the attendance line at 303-982-6330 with the reason for the tardy.
• Walk your student in and sign them in with the reason for the tardy.
• Have your student bring a note from a medical professional. If your student has a doctor’s note, you do not need to walk them in, the note acts as your signature.
• All tardies MUST be excused by a parent or guardian within 24 hours of the occurrence or they will remain unexcused.

Tardies that occur during the day to individual periods (outside of drop-off) cannot be excused by parents. If a student is tardy on a consistent basis, counselors and/or administration will work with the student to develop a plan to help them get to class on time. If a student reaches 3 tardies in a week, they will be given an after school detention. 

Early dismissals cannot disrupt the education of the other students. All students leaving outside of the normal school hours, MUST sign in or out of the front office before leaving. 

If your student is going home with someone else early, please send a note with your student to give us permission to send them with the other parent. 

There are 3 options for picking up a student early:

• Send a note with your student to bring to the front office before school starts. They will be given a pass to leave class at the appropriate time and meet you in the office. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of when they are supposed to leave class. 
• Call the Main Office (not the Attendance Line). Please call the main office line at 303-982-6340 as early in the day as possible.  Your student will be given a pass to leave class at the appropriate time and meet you in the office. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of when they are supposed to leave class.
• Meet your student in the front office during a passing period.  Review the BELL SCHEDULE and arrange with your student to meet you in the office during their passing period.

We understand that emergencies arise, but please follow our procedures whenever possible. Our goal is to keep the classroom interruptions to a minimum.
