Your Manning Mental Health team is interested in hearing from you!

Please let us know a little bit about your student(s)’ social and emotional experiences at Manning, and what you would be interested in learning more about as an adult at home. We will use the information from the Google form to create programming for both students and adults. For instance, are you interested in participating in a suicide prevention program, high school preparation support, or navigating middle school as a parent? This form provides space for you to express those wishes.

Social Emotional Learning in Jeffco

What is Social Emotional Learning (SEL)?

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which students and adults gain and apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to deal effectively with daily tasks and challenges.

Jeffco has adopted the five core competencies of SEL outlined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL).

Social Awareness
Relationship Skills
Responsible Decision-Making (CASEL, 2020)

SEL happens in safe and supportive school, family and community environments that support development and provide opportunities and recognition for successfully applying skills.
